So long … but don’t be strangers!

Well it has certainly been a while! We hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New year break and are refreshed for another year to embark on new adventures! Speaking of which, we are about to embark on a different kind of adventure! It is with both sadness and excitement that we are announcing that Jordan Photography will no longer operate at the end of this financial year and that we are no longer taking bookings.

Before you reach for the tissues or try to hold back your devastation, we will attempt to console …;-)  WHYYYYY? You ask.

Well after 8 years of capturing beautiful memories and heartfelt moments for our wonderful couples, we both felt in our hearts that it was time to move on. To what exactly, we aren’t sure, but we are sure that if God has anything to do with it, it will be another AMAZING adventure! We do regard our time as Jordan Photography as one of those AMAZING chapters in our lives, that we are extremely grateful for. Not only because of the privilege of capturing priceless memories, but being able to meet and get to know so many beautiful couples, some of which have become close friends. We’ve also developed close friendships with the other great photographers in our region and will miss the catchup brekkys we had!

We will occassionally miss framing images in our minds and taking them with our internal cameras … wait… no we won’t:-)I think we will mostly be looking forward to our next big adventure, whatever that may be!

For now, we want to say goodbye, officially, as Jordan Photography. We want to thank you, our readers, our past and present clients and our family and friends, for supporting us and trusting us. We have truly had a ball over the last 8 years. A lot of you have made us laugh and even cry, but most of all we’ll remember all the fun we had! We thank you for the memories!!

As this door closes, we’re sure another one will open soon! Until then, so long … but don’t be strangers!

John & Jackie – Maclean/Yamba Wedding

Well our last wedding of the year was a pleasure to photograph. John and Jackie got married on the 24th November at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Maclean and held their reception at the popular Angourie Rainforest Resort in Yamba. After a couple of weeks of wild weather here in the north coast, that brought down trees and ripped roofs off homes, it was good to see this day pan out with such nice weather!

Jackie was a super calm bride and John was very suave. We absolutely adored Jackie’s dress! These two were so great together and, like their e-session, they were willing to do whatever it took to get the best shots … even brave the strong winds on the rocky side of the Blue Pools in order to get the perfect veil shot!

Thanks for being so easy to work with guys. Your day was wonderful and we wish you all the best in your married life together!!

Craig and Di,

These photos are so incredibly amazing!
We can’t thankyou enough for the wonderful work you did on the day, you were both so professional, in dealing with boutonniere dilemas and keeping everything running on time.
During the ceremony you were so wonderfully discreet, I forgot you were there, and at the location shoot your calm relaxed manner had everyone feeling instantly at ease.
It was such a pleasure to have your company thoughout the day, we were so lucky to have you as our photographers.
We never imagined we could have photos of us looking like this.
Thankyou
Love Jackie & John

Steve & Sue – Ballina Wedding

A few months ago, we were honoured to be asked by long time friend, Steve Mitchell, to be photographers and guests at this wonderful wedding. For a number of reasons, this couple are special and dear to our hearts and we were happy to be a part of this day. Despite the life experiences that have brought many tears on both their journeys, their union was definitely a joyous occasion!

We celebrated their vows at By The River in Ballina and marveled as God spoke into their lives. Afterwards, our plan to hit the headland at Boulders for the location shoot was slightly foiled because of the rain, but nevertheless God’s favour led us in another direction – the penthouse suite in the Ramada hotel! Many thanks to the generous people there – we were able to score ourselves a dry, comfortable and elegant place to shoot where we could all let our hair down.:-)It was great to then see the childlike natures of these two come out to play.

Steve and Sue, we pray for God’s abundant blessing and favour on your lives and your marriage. Enjoy the upcoming adventures together as you keep Him in the centre! Much love to you both!! Xxxoo

Luke & Tegan – Yamba Wedding

A great day was had last Saturday in Yamba for Luke & Tegan’s wedding. We had not met this couple from Broken Hill until the day and found out that they have been together for 8 years!! Wowzers!:-)We enjoyed hearing stories of how they met at uni in Coffs Harbour and of some of their adventures since. Heartfelt vows were shared at the ceremony as tears were also apparent. Awww they were so sweet! It was clear that these two are meant to be together.

The weather in Yamba was beautiful and balmy and Luke and Tegan were fantastic to work with … gotta love north coast weddings!!:-P

We stuck around for the reception at the Yamba surf club and the night ended with a bit of lighting frenzy when Tegan did her bouquet toss. With the launch of the flowers, somehow the overhead string lighting was caught in the spinning fan and the slightly scary lightshow began. Good thing nobody was hurt … and it made for some great photos!:-)

Thanks Luke and Tegan for trusting us with your special day! We wish you every happiness as a married couple and many more fun adventures ahead!

Steve & Amy – Byron Bay Wedding

Two Saturdays ago when we had one of the hottest days recorded in history, we were enjoying the cool and not-so-gentle breeze/gale:-)of Byron Bay, where Steve and Amy celebrated their long time friendship by tying the knot. These two are perfect for each other and it’s apparent that they’ve been best friends for a long time so it was only fitting that they got married! We’ve been so privileged to follow these two from their family shoot/surprise engagement over two years ago to their recent e-session, through to their wedding day. Thanks guys for the memories, fun and laughter!

So anyway, the scene was set in Byron for this cruisy couple to wed on the beach… but due to some strong winds it had to be moved to the grass area in front of main beach. And despite the small marquee nearly toppling over before Amy made her grand entrance, this did not phase them in the slightest- if anything, it made for some good stories! There were tears, smiles and a lot of laughter at the ceremony as the couple’s journey was revealed!

Afterwards we trekked on foot (in true North Coast fashion) to the Byron Beach Cafe where the cake was cut before the barefoot trotting on the sand followed. We had a lot of fun with bridal party and also captured the windswept dramatic journey towards The Pass. The wind certainly made it look like an epic journey!:-)Thanks guys for trusting us that there was shelter ahead.

Here are some of our favourites …

Steve and Amy – what else can we say, but thank you for sharing your wonderful moments in life with us. It really has been special and makes our job all the more fun. A BIG congratulations and a prayer that your adventures together will continue for many years to come!
